JD Hopper is a professional public speaker, educator, entrepreneur, and communication coach based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Public speaking has always been one of JD's natural strengths, but he made the deliberate decision to develop that ability through years of practice, competition, leadership, coaching, and professional speaking.
At Queen City Toastmasters, JD's growth as a speaker quickly led him into leadership. He was elected the youngest president in the organization's 72-year history and grew the club into the largest public speaking organization in the Carolinas.
JD also serves as a public speaking coach with Charlotte Latin School's Speech and Debate program, helping students strengthen their oratory, confidence, delivery, body language, vocal variety, projection, and stage presence.
Beyond coaching, JD speaks professionally at conferences, workshops, lectures, company events, panels, and other gatherings. His speaking draws from his experience as an entrepreneur, leader, educator, and community builder.

JD Hopper serves as a public speaking coach with Charlotte Latin School's Speech and Debate program.
Charlotte Latin is one of Charlotte's leading private schools, and its Speech and Debate program won the 2026 National Championship in World Schools Debate.
JD works directly with students to strengthen the skills that turn an idea into a compelling performance. His coaching focuses on oratory, confidence on stage, reducing filler words, effective body language, vocal variety, projection, presence, and delivering speeches with clarity and power.
His work with young speakers challenges students, gives them actionable feedback, lets them practice, and helps them discover what they are capable of communicating.
LEADERSHIP & PUBLIC SPEAKING
JD Hopper served as president of Queen City Toastmasters during the 2025–2026 term. He was elected the youngest president in the club's 72-year history.
Under his leadership, Queen City Toastmasters grew to more than 70 active paid members, reaching the highest active membership count in its history and becoming the largest public speaking organization in the Carolinas.
Competition season brought extraordinary results. Queen City won both major District speaking championships: the Impromptu Speaking Championship and the Prepared Speaking Championship. The organization advanced through the club, area, division, and district levels, ultimately outlasting 87 other clubs with a perfect 8–0 competitive record.
The experience reinforced JD's belief that great speakers are developed through practice, feedback, encouragement, and the willingness to continually step outside their comfort zone.
